NCT ID NCT04174924
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at why certain eye lenses (phakic intraocular lenses) used for severe nearsightedness may cause loss of important eye cells. Researchers compared 126 patients having lens removal or cataract surgery, analyzing their tears and eye fluid for signs of inflammation. The goal was to understand if inflammation or fluid flow changes are to blame, which could improve future lens safety.
