ICU tube removal study: to suction or not to suction?

Summary
This study looks at whether suctioning the airway before removing a breathing tube helps ICU patients breathe better afterward. About 120 adults who have been on a breathing machine for more than 48 hours will take part. Researchers will check oxygen levels for three hours after the tube is removed to see which method works best.
