Could less immunotherapy be better? new trial tests Every-6-Week dosing for tough breast cancer
NCT ID NCT07401537
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving immunotherapy every 6 weeks instead of every 3 weeks works as well for advanced triple-negative breast cancer. The goal is to keep the cancer under control while reducing side effects and improving quality of life. About 416 participants whose cancer is stable or improving after initial treatment will be randomly assigned to one of the two schedules.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
PD-1 inhibitor (immunotherapy drug)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that less frequent immunotherapy is just as effective, with fewer side effects and lower costs for patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a Phase 2 trial, so results are preliminary. The extended schedule might be less effective or still cause significant side effects. It only applies to patients whose cancer is stable or improving after initial treatment.
