Summary

This study tests a simple, three-session expressive writing program to help sexual minority veterans cope with stress related to their identity and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. About 85 veterans who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or queer and have significant distress will participate. The goal is to see if this brief, one-on-one intervention is practical and helpful, with the hope of offering a new, easy-to-use tool within VA care.
