First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study aims to make opioid use disorder treatment more available in rural Georgia by having emergency room doctors connect patients to addiction specialists at the Georgia Poison Center through video calls. About 480 adults who come to the ER with opioid withdrawal or overdose will be offered medication to start treatment and linked to local recovery support groups. The goal is to see if this approach helps more people begin and stay in treatment.
