New injection could slash pain after common hernia op

NCT ID NCT07012603

Summary

This study tested a specific type of nerve block, called an EXORA block, to see if it could better control pain after surgery to repair an umbilical (belly button) hernia. Fifty adult patients having this surgery were randomly assigned to receive either this new block or standard care. Researchers measured how much strong pain medication (morphine) patients needed afterward and tracked their pain levels.
