Can exercise fight deadly inflammation after spinal injury?
NCT ID NCT05376449
Summary
This study tested whether a 12-week adaptive exercise program could reduce chronic inflammation in people with spinal cord injuries. Chronic inflammation is linked to heart and lung disease, the leading causes of death for this group. Researchers enrolled 24 participants to see if starting exercise immediately or after a delay made a difference in key inflammation markers.
