Can a daily walk slow Parkinson's? VA study tests exercise as Brain-Saving treatment
NCT ID NCT03808675
Summary
This study tested whether one year of regular aerobic exercise, like brisk walking or cycling, could slow the progression of Parkinson's disease. It involved 57 adults with Parkinson's who were randomly assigned to either follow an exercise program or continue their usual care. Researchers measured changes in brain health, movement, thinking skills, and even driving ability to see if exercise provides broad, lasting benefits.
