Fighting Cancer's Muscle-Wasting effects: new trial pairs workouts with protein
NCT ID NCT05356117
Summary
This study is testing whether a program of supervised strength training exercises, with or without protein shakes, is practical and helpful for people with pancreatic cancer who are starting chemotherapy. The main goal is to see if this approach can help patients maintain or build muscle mass, which often wastes away during cancer treatment. About 45 participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: exercise with protein shakes, exercise alone, or a gentle stretching program for comparison.
