Wii games vs. sensory exercises: which helps kids with cerebral palsy move better?
NCT ID NCT07836517
First seen Sep 23, 2026 · Last updated Sep 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
Researchers compare two exercise programs for children with cerebral palsy: a sensory-motor integration program and a Nintendo Wii virtual reality exercise program. Both groups continue standard physiotherapy. The study measures changes in gross motor function, balance, and mobility over 16 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- exercise programs: a sensory-motor integration program and a Nintendo Wii virtual reality exercise program
- What this could lead to
- If one program works better, therapists could tailor exercise plans for children with cerebral palsy to improve walking, balance, and daily movement.
- What could go wrong
- The trial is very small, with only 8 children, so results may not apply broadly. Both groups also receive standard physiotherapy, making it hard to isolate each program's effect.
