First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at how different exercise intensities affect a brain protein called BDNF, which helps brain cells grow and survive. Twelve healthy young adults did three types of exercise: high-intensity intervals, moderate continuous running, and light jogging. Researchers measured BDNF and lactate levels before and after each session to find when BDNF peaks.
