Pregnancy pain relief: simple exercise program shows promise
NCT ID NCT07186504
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a weekly exercise class, combined with pelvic floor therapy when needed, can reduce pelvic girdle pain in pregnant women. Forty women with pelvic pain will be randomly assigned to either the exercise program or standard prenatal care. Researchers will measure pain levels and daily function before, during, and after pregnancy.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
adapted physical activity and pelvic floor rehabilitation
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a safe, drug-free way to reduce pelvic pain and improve daily function for pregnant women.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early exploratory trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to all women. The intervention is time-intensive and may not be widely adopted.
