Can exercise ease the ache? new study tests movement against breast cancer drug pain

NCT ID NCT03955627

Summary

This small, completed pilot study tested whether a program combining education and group exercise could help older breast cancer survivors manage the joint pain caused by a common medication (aromatase inhibitors). Researchers wanted to see if this approach could reduce pain and help women stick with their important cancer treatment. The study involved 12 women aged 60+ who were about to start the medication and were randomly assigned to receive either basic information or the full education and exercise program.
