Exercise boosts brain power in breast cancer survivors?

NCT ID NCT02934880

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a structured exercise program (adapted physical activity) could improve thinking and quality of life in women treated for locally advanced breast cancer. 37 women who had chemotherapy and reported memory or concentration problems took part. Half started exercise right away, the other half waited three months. The goal was to see if exercise could help their mental sharpness and overall well-being.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a simple, drug-free way to help breast cancer patients think more clearly and feel better after chemotherapy.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early study with only 37 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the benefit may be small or hard to measure.
