Scientists probe: does exercise redirect fat away from your belly?
NCT ID NCT00434265
Summary
This study aimed to understand how regular exercise changes where the body sends different types of dietary fat—toward muscle to be burned or toward fat tissue for storage—in inactive men with obesity. Researchers studied 12 participants before and after two months of exercise training, using special tracers in fats and tiny tissue samples. The goal was to gather knowledge about the basic biology of fat metabolism, not to test a treatment for weight loss.
