Can brain games and exercise shield seniors from Surgery's mental fog?

NCT ID NCT04889417

Summary

This study is testing whether a program of brain-training computer games and guided physical exercise, done before and after major surgery, can help older adults protect their thinking skills and ability to live independently. Researchers are comparing this combined program to simpler activities in 250 patients aged 60 and older. The goal is to see if this training can reduce the risk of long-term cognitive decline and physical disability that sometimes follows surgery.
