Scientists investigate why exercise turns dangerous for diabetics
NCT ID NCT07228208
Summary
This study aims to understand why people with type 2 diabetes often experience dangerous blood pressure spikes during exercise, which increases their risk of heart attack and stroke. Researchers will measure blood pressure, heart rate, and blood vessel function in 40 participants during handgrip exercises. The goal is to determine if blood vessel damage and cellular stress cause these responses, potentially identifying new treatment approaches.
