Can a simple exercise plan before surgery speed up cancer recovery?
NCT ID NCT06079697
Summary
This study tested whether a simple exercise program done before surgery could help patients recover better from head and neck cancer operations. Fifty-two patients were split into two groups: one did exercises like walking and sit-to-stands for a few weeks before surgery, while the other group did not. Researchers tracked recovery by measuring daily steps, hospital stay length, pain, and mood after surgery to see if the pre-surgery exercises made a difference.
