First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at how different breathing exercises affect genes and symptoms in 84 adults with severe asthma. Participants did either standard breathing rehab or the same program plus extra muscle-strengthening exercises. Researchers measured changes in lung function, exercise ability, and a specific gene called MALAT1. The goal was to see if adding muscle training gives extra benefits and how exercise might work at the genetic level.
