First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 12-week adaptive exercise program can lower chronic inflammation in adults with spinal cord injury (SCI). Chronic inflammation is linked to heart and lung disease, the top causes of death in SCI. Twenty-four participants were randomly assigned to start exercise right away or after a 12-week wait. The study measured changes in blood markers of inflammation like C-reactive protein.
