Sound waves target untreatable nerve pain

NCT ID NCT04649554

Summary

This study tested whether a focused ultrasound treatment called Exablate could reduce severe nerve pain and improve daily function. It enrolled adults with chronic nerve pain who hadn't found relief from at least three other treatments. Researchers measured changes in pain levels, sleep, mood, and disability over several months after the procedure.
