European registry aims to improve care for pancreatic enzyme deficiency

NCT ID NCT05450627

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study creates a registry of adults with pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI), a condition where the pancreas does not produce enough enzymes to digest food properly. Researchers at eight specialist centers across Europe will track how doctors prescribe pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) in routine practice. The goal is to understand the doses needed to relieve symptoms and improve nutrition, without imposing any specific tests or treatments.
