Summary

This study tested a mobile app called eSTEP designed to help transgender women and gay/bisexual men at high risk for HIV start and continue taking PrEP, a daily or injectable medication that prevents HIV. 116 participants used the app alongside their regular clinic visits, and researchers measured how many started PrEP and maintained protective drug levels. The goal was to see if the app improves adherence compared to standard care alone.
