Summary

This study tested whether a nerve block called erector spinae plane block (ESPB) can improve pain control and recovery after open-heart surgery. 66 adults were randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block or standard intravenous painkillers. Researchers measured pain scores, need for extra pain medicine, and body functions for 48 hours after surgery to see if the nerve block offers better pain relief and supports faster recovery.
