First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looked at 46 adults having spinal surgery to see if giving a nerve block (ESP block) before or after surgery makes a difference in pain and recovery. The goal was to find out which timing reduces the need for strong painkillers and helps patients feel better sooner. Results will help anesthesiologists choose the best approach for managing pain after back surgery.
