Doctors investigate if tumor tightness predicts cancer spread

NCT ID NCT02372929

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a tight, hard-to-pass tumor in the esophagus indicates more advanced cancer. Researchers observed 100 adults with esophageal cancer during their standard diagnostic procedures. They collected data to see if the physical tightness of the tumor seen during a scope exam correlated with the cancer's stage found on a special ultrasound scan.
