Doctors map cancer spread to make surgery safer

NCT ID NCT07165210

Summary

This study aims to better understand how often esophageal cancer spreads to a specific set of lymph nodes near the windpipe. Researchers will observe 1,852 patients undergoing surgery to see how common this spread is and identify which patients are most at risk. The goal is to gather evidence to help surgeons decide whether removing these particular lymph nodes is necessary for each patient, potentially making surgery safer with fewer complications.
