Doctors seek to refine esophageal cancer surgery by studying a key lymph node

NCT ID NCT07165184

Summary

This study aims to better understand how often esophageal cancer spreads to a specific set of lymph nodes near the windpipe, and what factors make that spread more likely. It will observe 1100 patients with esophageal cancer who are scheduled for surgery. The goal is to gather evidence to help surgeons decide whether removing these specific lymph nodes is necessary for each patient, potentially reducing surgery risks.
