New chemo strategy aims to stop deadly cancer spread

NCT ID NCT03110926

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a specific chemotherapy regimen (mFOLFOX6) before the usual treatment can help stop esophageal cancer from spreading to other parts of the body. It involves 40 adults with locally advanced but potentially removable esophageal cancer. The goal is to see if this extra step before standard chemo, radiation, and surgery improves survival by preventing the cancer from coming back elsewhere.
