Summary
This study tests a drug called esomeprazole, given through an IV, to prevent stress ulcers and acid reflux in 50 adults recovering from surgery in the intensive care unit (ICU). The goal is to see if it can keep stomach acid low enough to reduce the risk of bleeding. Participants will be monitored for 72 hours after receiving the drug.
