New combo therapy targets rare abdominal cancer in early trial

NCT ID NCT03361436

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests the safety and best dose of the chemotherapy drug eribulin when given with radiation before surgery for a rare cancer called retroperitoneal liposarcoma. About 15 adults with this abdominal fat-cell tumor will receive the combination to see how well it shrinks the cancer before removal. The main goal is to find any serious side effects and determine if this approach is feasible for larger studies.
