Can Hands-On ergonomic training outsmart back pain in warehouse workers?
NCT ID NCT07745400
First seen Aug 04, 2026 · Last updated Aug 05, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether an interactive, hands-on ergonomic training program can better protect logistics workers from musculoskeletal problems compared to a traditional lecture-based seminar. Over one year, 70 manual material handlers will be randomly assigned to either the experiential training or the standard seminar. Researchers will track changes in posture-related ergonomic risk, musculoskeletal symptoms, and ergonomic knowledge at several points to see which approach leads to safer working habits.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Experiential learning-based ergonomic training program
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this training could become a standard approach to reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders in manual handling jobs, improving worker health and productivity.
- What could go wrong
- The trial is relatively small (70 participants) and the results may not apply to all industries. The training's success depends on workers consistently applying what they learn over the long term.
