Can a quick scope procedure stop painful pancreas Flare-Ups?
NCT ID NCT03609944
Summary
This study tested whether a minor endoscopic procedure could reduce the risk of future painful pancreatitis attacks in adults with a specific pancreas anatomy called pancreas divisum. 181 participants who had experienced at least two prior attacks were randomly assigned to receive either the real procedure or a sham (fake) procedure. Researchers then tracked them for up to four years to see if the real procedure led to fewer repeat episodes of pancreatitis.
