First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study aimed to understand why erythropoietin (EPO), a drug used to treat anemia, can raise blood pressure in people with chronic kidney disease. Researchers planned to compare blood pressure changes in patients who started EPO immediately versus those who delayed treatment. The study was terminated early after enrolling only 27 of the planned 160 participants, so results are limited.
