First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at 126 women who had an episiotomy (a cut made during childbirth) to see which type of stitch helps healing better: modern absorbable synthetic stitches or traditional catgut stitches. The researchers measured pain, infection, and wound reopening after delivery. The goal was to find the best stitch to improve recovery for new mothers.
