Eye study seeks to uncover hidden risk factors for diabetic retina scarring

NCT ID NCT07241845

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how common epiretinal membrane (a thin scar-like layer on the retina) is in people with diabetic retinopathy, and what factors might make it more likely. Researchers will examine 225 adults with diabetes and varying stages of diabetic eye disease using eye scans. The goal is to better understand who is at risk, not to test a new treatment.
