Mapping the Seizure's path: how epilepsy rewires young brains

NCT ID NCT03268824

Summary

This study aims to understand how ongoing seizures affect the brain's wiring in children with drug-resistant focal epilepsy. Researchers will combine special brain scans with recordings from electrodes placed in the brain during standard pre-surgical evaluation. The goal is to see if seizure activity damages local brain connections and affects how language skills are organized across the brain's hemispheres.
