Neck pain injection may sharpen arm awareness
NCT ID NCT07307846
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a steroid injection into the spine can improve how well people with chronic neck pain sense their arm movements. Researchers will give the injection to 46 adults with a pinched nerve in the neck and measure arm position accuracy before and after. The goal is to see if the injection helps with more than just pain.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
triamcinolone acetonide with lidocaine
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that the injection helps restore arm movement awareness in people with chronic neck pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early study with only 46 participants and no control group, so results may not apply widely. The injection carries risks like infection or nerve damage.
