New hope for frail lymphoma patients: drug combo shows promise

NCT ID NCT06045247

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This phase 2 trial is testing whether adding the drug epcoritamab to a standard chemotherapy combination (R-miniCVP) can better control newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in older or frail patients who cannot take strong chemotherapy. The study will enroll 40 adults and also monitor safety. The goal is to find a gentler but effective treatment option.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Epcoritamab (a drug given under the skin) plus rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisone (given by vein or mouth)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a more effective and safer treatment option for older or frail patients with a common type of lymphoma who cannot tolerate standard chemotherapy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination may cause side effects or not work better than existing treatments.
