Can heartburn pills help a stiff esophagus?

NCT ID NCT03312686

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a common acid reflux medication (proton pump inhibitor or PPI) can improve the flexibility of the esophagus in adults with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Researchers will measure how stretchy the upper and lower parts of the esophagus are before and after an 8-week course of treatment. The goal is to see if reducing inflammation helps the esophagus work better.
