New eye injection aims to clear corneal swelling

Summary

This early-stage study tests the safety of an experimental drug called EO2002, given as an injection into the eye, for people with corneal edema (swelling of the clear front part of the eye). The study involves 12 adults with corneal swelling caused by Fuchs' dystrophy or after cataract surgery. Some participants will also receive a topical eye drop called ripasudil. The main goal is to see if the treatment is safe and tolerable.
