First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether an online mental health platform called ENYOY can reduce psychological distress in young people aged 16 to 25 who are on waiting lists for mental health care. Participants are randomly assigned to either get access to the platform plus usual care, or usual care alone. The platform offers interactive activities, coaching, peer support, and a moderated online community. The study will follow 225 participants for 12 months to see if the platform helps improve their mental health.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
ENYOY digital mental health platform (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a low-cost, accessible way to support young people while they wait for mental health care, reducing distress and improving well-being.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small study (225 people) and the platform is only tested in the Netherlands, so results may not apply elsewhere. The control group gets usual care, so any benefit may be modest.
