Summary

This study looked at whether a substance called endotoxin, which comes from certain bacteria, can increase alcohol consumption in people with alcohol use disorder. Researchers gave 27 adults either endotoxin or a placebo and measured how much alcohol they drank during a 120-minute session. The goal was to understand if inflammation from gut bacteria plays a role in drinking behavior.
