Camera-Guided ear surgery could sharpen hearing without extra cuts

NCT ID NCT07304999

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using an endoscope (a small camera) during stapes surgery helps people with otosclerosis hear better. Otosclerosis causes a bone in the ear to harden, leading to hearing loss. The surgery aims to replace that bone with a tiny device to restore sound. Researchers will check hearing changes in 30 patients and see if the camera approach reduces complications.
