Scientists test shipping cancer to grow 'Mini-Organs' in lab

NCT ID NCT07258186

Summary

This study aims to see if endometrial cancer tissue samples, collected during a patient's standard surgery at other hospitals, can be successfully shipped and then grown into 3D 'organoids' (mini-tumors) in the lab. Researchers will enroll about 20 patients to check if the shipping process harms the tissue and if they can reliably create these organoids. The goal is to build a resource for future research to better understand this cancer and test treatments, but this study itself does not provide any direct treatment to participants.
