Smart sensors could save lives after surgery
NCT ID NCT06565559
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study is testing whether wearable sensors (like a chest patch and finger clip) can detect early signs that a patient is getting worse after surgery. Over 1,300 adults having major surgery in 8 countries will wear the sensors for up to 10 days. The data will be used to design early warning algorithms, but will not change patient care during the study.
