First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This completed study tested whether four free self-help resources—a book, a smartphone app, a helpline, and a peer mentor—can help adults with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis feel more in control and reduce disability. Over 800 adults with moderate-to-severe IBD-related disability were randomly assigned to different combinations of these tools. The goal was to see which tools best improve self-confidence and daily functioning.
