NCT ID NCT06653738

First seen May 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily pill (empagliflozin, a diabetes drug) and personalized diet advice can prevent calcium kidney stones from returning. About 400 adults who have had at least two kidney stones in the past 10 years will take either the drug or a placebo, and receive either personalized or general diet counseling for 3 years. The goal is to see if these approaches reduce new stone formation or growth.
