Could a simple cream make baby shots less painful?

NCT ID NCT01802086

Summary

This study tested whether applying a numbing cream called Emla before a routine baby vaccine helps reduce pain. It involved 72 healthy three-month-old infants getting their first pneumococcal shot. Researchers compared pain scores, crying time, and heart rate between babies who got the numbing cream and those who did not.
