NCT ID NCT07342556
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study aims to understand how influenza transmits from person to person. Healthy volunteers, called Recipients, will spend time in a controlled environment with people infected with the flu (Donors) while performing everyday activities like playing cards. The study involves daily check-ups, blood draws, and a two-week semi-quarantine. Participants may catch the flu, but researchers will provide support if needed.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help scientists better understand how flu spreads, leading to improved prevention strategies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage observational study with only 80 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Participants risk catching the flu.
